Introduction
My name is Lindsey Hall, and I am a pediatric occupational therapist and DIRFloortime® Expert. I was fortunate to discover the relationship and strengths-based model of DIR®. Now it is my mission to share my combined professional knowledge from the field of occupational therapy and DIR® with YOU!
New Resources! "The Regulation Plan" Resource & Application Guides
"Regulation" is the foundational skill of all development, and the ability to be regulated is necessary for connecting and forming relationships with others. However, regulation is a very complex topic!
In my OT career and as a learner of DIR®, I found there was a need for a comprehensive written resource on Regulation. However, I wanted to create MORE than just a text that describes regulation. I wanted a way for the user to learn through individual application! In "The Regulation Plan, Application Guide," users apply what they learn about regulation to themselves and to the child in their lives. Questionnaires are used, and forms are provided to record the information learned. This provides both a reference and a communication tool when discussing the child's needs with others.
MOST of all, I wanted to create a method for the user to begin immediately applying what they learn, for themselves and for the child, to support positive interactions that fuel the child's development AND strengthen the relationship with the child. Thus, the "Regulation Plan" Resource and Application Guides were born!
I designed these guides to be used by parents, by caregivers, and by professionals working with children and families. These guides will support an understanding of sensory processing and regulation needs, for the child AND for the adult.
